Tidbits from the Top
Permit Process
The process of acquiring a permit for your building varies depending on which state, city, township, or municipality the building will be located in. It also depends on the type of work being done. Permits may include demolition, zoning, building, electrical, plumbing, and others. In certain areas, the contractor is required to acquire some of the permits. It is a good idea to inquire with your governmental office to get the proper paperwork needed for the permit and to understand the cost associated with it prior to pursuing building costs. In some circumstances it is found that local codes do not allow for additional buildings on the property.
