Tidbits from the Top

Concrete Thickness

MN & WI

Economy Garages pours a 5” thick concrete floor as a standard.  This also includes a 12” wide by 10” thick area around the perimeter called a “grade beam”, although different building areas differ on this.  According to the codes in each of the states, Wisconsin requires a 4” thick concrete floor and Minnesota requires a 3 ½” thick floor.  What is really interesting is that most of the municipalities in both states require a 5” floor even though they are not supposed to supersede the code.  Since Economy Garages is above the code in both states, this is not a problem.
