Initial Conctruction Day – What to Expect

The building crew and delivery vehicles are rolling up your driveway, now what is going to happen.  Typically, day one has the big “WOW” factor since the day starts with just a concrete slab and ends with most, if not all, of the structure standing.  The first thing that the crew does is to check the floor for squareness, make some adjustments if needed, and snap lines denoting the inside edge of the walls.  The trailer is then unloaded, placing materials in the perfect spots for the least amount of handling during construction.  Then it’s, sill seal down, walls up, anchored, top plated, trusses set, and sheeted.  Depending on the size of the building, they may not quite get this far or may get much further.
