Many products used in construction are being impacted by a shortage in raw materials.  Many of these shortages are due to the lack of labor to acquire the materials.  This issue progresses from the field right on through to the end user… you.  The shortage of aluminum forced allocations to the manufactures that produce products like garage doors, soffit, fascia, roof edge, gutters, etc.  Product availability became a serious issue from various vendors including ceasing the production of some of the less popular colors.  The effect of availability always has an impact on the price.  Less product or more demand will lead to elevated prices and extended wait times.
