Hurricane fastener is a general term for special products used to secure a truss to the double top plate of a wall to combat uplift loads due to high wind conditions.  These types of products include plates, twisted straps, and screws.  Economy Garages uses screws that go through both plates and well into the truss.  The placement of these screws eliminates any issues when it comes time to finish the interior of the building; whereas, the other products’ thickness and needed nails can create some frustration during the finishing process.
