Tidbits from the Top

Engineered Headers

Engineered lumber is called by many different names but most commonly, LVL’s (Laminated Veneer Lumber) and Glu Lams.  This type of building material is made up of many layers of wood which is glued together with high-grade adhesive to achieve strengths and dimensions not achievable by standard dimensional lumber.  Engineered lumber can be produced within fairly tight tolerances which enables carrying loads to easily be calculated.  The most obvious use of this product is above garage doors and large windows.  Economy Garages uses engineered lumber for all garage doors even though dimensional lumber can be used in many circumstances.
