AC Operator RequirEments

This may be something not known to many. Many of the new AC (Alternating Current) garage door operators may require special light bulbs and high-quality GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlets to operate properly. If your operator is not performing properly or has frequent or sporadic issues, one of these may be the culprit. Bulbs emanate different frequencies proportional to the energy of the light emitted. These frequencies can disrupt the advanced sensors and integrated systems of the operator. Trying a different bulb or one specifically designated by the manufacturer may solve your problem. Low-grade GFCI outlets may trip often when used with new-technology AC operators. You can test this by using an extension cord from a non-protected outlet.
