Tidbits from the Top

Can/Should I

Build There

So, you had this great idea of where to put your dream building, can it be done… should it be done. The process of building and the transporting of materials must be considered when placing a building. If your intent is to put a structure in your back yard or woodland property without a driveway accessing it, there are things to consider. The preparation of the ground requires large equipment and the ability to get dump trucks to the area. These vehicles will greatly destroy a minimum of a 12’ wide path, and even wider if there are turns. They also require a height of at least 18’-25’ from power lines and tree branches for dumping. If the ground is wet or unstable, they may not be able to get the job done. The next to require access is the concrete trucks. They are typically larger, longer, and heavier than the dump trucks. Can your unprepared yard handle the heavy loads and abuse? Plan to landscape after the project is complete.
