Tidbits from the Top

Sequence of BUilding

Everyone has heard “don’t put the cart before the horse”, right?  In construction, there is an order of doing things that should be followed so recently completed projects are not destroyed.  Planting grass, installing a flower garden, or landscaping around the newly poured concrete slab before the building is constructed are a few of those situations.  Crew members must walk all around the building and place temporary braces during construction which will leave a mark on the surrounding area.  Another, maybe less obvious example, is installing an asphalt driveway, and then inquiring about a garage with access off that driveway.  Heavy equipment is used to prepare the area for the garage and loaded concrete trucks will drive off the edge to access the new garage site.  This equipment can severely damage asphalt driveways and yards so please think of everything you would like to have done before you “put the cart before the horse”.
