Tidbits from the Top

Seasonal Concrete

Economy Garages has the tools and knowledge to pour concrete year-round, but does that mean we should.  Our policy is to pour concrete on days when the daytime temperature is expected to reach a minimum of 20 degrees.  It is not that difficult to protect the freshly poured concrete, get a nice finish, and further protect it with curing blankets before any possibility of it freezing.  Concrete poured in temperatures maintained slightly above freezing slows the hydration (curing) process which results in better concrete.  Pouring in temperatures below this requires more knowledge, care, and even additional tools.  We are typically able to pour enough concrete before the onset of winter to allow our building crews to work until the air temperatures become a safety hazard for them.
