Gutters

Installing gutters is a great way to mitigate water problems.  Water falling from the eave will super-saturate the soil and cause erosion which can be a very serious issue if the soil is eroded to the point of undermining the concrete floor of the building.  In northern climates, it is even more important since fully saturated soil which is allowed to freeze near an unheated slab-on-grade building will displace the concrete floor much differently on each side which may lead to excessive cracking.  Use of gutters allows the water to be directed away from the building to a more appropriate area.
