Garage Doors – Wind Load
Not all garage doors are created equal. The code in Minnesota and Wisconsin requires garage doors to withstand a 95mph wind. This code requirement must be followed by all licensed contractors; however, big box stores and most lumber yards that order doors do not stock or order doors that conform to this code. They are able to do this because homeowners replacing doors are not aware and are not required to have their work inspected, but new construction in most areas does. The code is there to protect people and property. Economy Garages adheres to this code in all areas, for all customers.
